We are excited to announce that we have a new 100K route for this year’s Tour de Gap on Saturday and a 20K route for the Steamboat Mountain Time Trial on Sunday morning!
NEW 100K Route for 2020
In our surveys over the past few years, you have asked if there was any way to move the 100K route off US Hwy 277. We realized that 11 mile stretch of road is very busy with traffic as well as a rough shoulder. Therefore, we were able to maintain the 100K distance and use some nice county roads in southern Taylor County that will brings us back to FM89 on the way back to Buffalo Gap. Also, we will have about a 2 mile stretch of gravel to ride on as well! Check out the new 100K route here: https://www.strava.com/routes/16719205
50K Route returns from last year
Usually the most popular route, this one winds among the hills and the Lemons Gap area, returning through the Rode Ranch and by Abilene State Park to Buffalo Gap.
11 Mile Route for everybody and especially for families
New Time 20K Trial Route for 2020
For the Steamboat Mountain Time Trial, we are making a change from finishing on top of Steamboat Mountain. This year we will have the start and finish at the Main Street Station that we have used over the last couple of years. This 20K route will head north out of Buffalo Gap and incorporate the climbs on Belle Plains and CR150. We are hoping that with this new route and not having “da Beast” to climb up Steamboat Mtn. will provide more riders for the Sunday morning TT. Please keep in mind that we limit the total number of riders to 60; so be sure and register ASAP! Check out the 20K Time Trial route here: https://www.strava.com/routes/19356392
